VNU-HCM Innovative Entrepreneurship Center (IEC) is a public non-business unit with the function of training, researching, and implementing of startup services and investment. The purpose is to promote the formation and development of startup businesses.
Position of IEC in startup ecosystem
The center serves as a "bridge" between universities, institutes, research centers under VNU-HCM and local startup ecosystems. Moreover, IEC connects units closely in activities of research, knowledge and technology transfer.
IEC directly sponsors student clubs for organizing events, contests, etc. It was considered as an effective method to approach and promote startup activities to students from universities.

He had a meeting to share on the topic: "Entrepreneurship thinking for the young" and encouraged students to participate in Creative Idea Contest - CiC of VNU-HCM.
On the business trip to Vietnam, Ms. Meagan Pi had a meeting with students attending the contest: Creative Idea Contest - CiC. The sharing centered around the issue of the topic: Future and development potential of technology.
During the meeting between the Ambassador and IEC, the two sides exchanged experiences on startups, startup ecosystems, and education systems of the two countries.
The representative of IEC Board of Directors welcomed Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy and introduced the startup ecosystem. Besides, she had time to discuss and talk to young startups that are in the process of incubation and development.
President of K-Club and senior delegation participated in the signing ceremony of an agreement between K-Club and IEC, for R&D and technology transfer promotion.
Mr. Axel Schultze had an informal meeting with talented students to talk about the situation of international startups, also opportunities and working environment at well-known foreign companies (including in Silicon Valley) and other related issues.
With the theme: Proposing a strategy to develop IoT startups ecosystem, Mr. Trung shared useful information about core elements and ways to bring out generations of potential young entrepreneurs.
Mr. Pham Duy Hieu and SVF are close partners of ITP, especially in training programs, events to share experiences, inspire entrepreneurship thinking for students and incubator managers.
Swiss EP, with a worldwide network of trusted experts, is one of the closest partners to accompany IEC from the early days of operation and development of start-up support programs to the present.
Dr. Utz Dornberger was a speaker at a sharing session with startup teams in the iStartX accelerator program for the topic: ways to innovation. Leipzig University was known as one of the oldest universities in the world and the second-oldest university in Germany.
Mr. Vu was one of the speakers at the "Developing IoT startup ecosystem opportunities and challenges" workshop in ITP Hall. The topic he shared was: IoT platform, Bluemix, and application capabilities.
On the occasion of the opening ceremony of VNU-HCM during the 2017-2018 school year, Secretary of Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan visited and found out the products and business models of young startups incubated by IEC.
